Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective date: August 28, 2026

1. Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy governs HostVera hosting and related services. Service-specific offers or written agreements may provide additional refund rights or conditions.

2. Cancellation

Customers may request cancellation through the client portal or Support. Cancellation generally prevents future renewal but does not automatically refund a completed billing period or erase amounts already due.

3. Introductory and Money-Back Offers

Where a money-back or introductory period is expressly offered at checkout, the offer controls eligibility, duration, exclusions, and refund procedure. If no such offer is stated, customers should not assume a general money-back guarantee.

4. Non-Refundable or Third-Party Costs

Where permitted by law, certain charges may be excluded from refunds, including domain registration or transfer fees, third-party licenses, certificate costs, custom services already delivered, transaction charges, and other non-recoverable third-party expenses.

5. Automatic Renewal

Recurring services may renew automatically when the customer selects a recurring plan. HostVera intends to present material renewal terms and cancellation methods and to provide notices required by applicable California automatic-renewal law and other mandatory law.

6. Billing Errors and Unauthorized Transactions

Customers should promptly report duplicate charges, incorrect amounts, or suspected unauthorized transactions. HostVera will review verified billing errors. Nothing prevents a customer from exercising a lawful right to dispute an unauthorized transaction through a financial institution.

7. Refund Method

Approved refunds generally use the original payment method where practical. The time required to post a refund may depend on the payment processor or financial institution.

8. Suspension for Abuse

Where permitted by law, a customer terminated for fraud, phishing, malware, security abuse, unlawful conduct, serious spam, or material contract violations is not automatically entitled to a refund for unused time.

9. Chargebacks

Customers are encouraged to contact HostVera about billing concerns before filing a chargeback. Improper or fraudulent chargebacks may lead to account review, suspension, or termination subject to law.

10. Consumer Protections

Nothing in this policy waives or limits a non-waivable right or remedy under California or federal law. Where a mandatory refund, cancellation, notice, or disclosure requirement applies, that requirement controls.

11. Changes

HostVera may revise this policy as services and laws change.
